Assessment
NWEA Online Diagnostic
One of the keys to evaluating, maintaining, and improving academic achievement is an diagnostic/assessment tool that provides a unique test for each student. We have found NWEA and their MAP system which stands for Measures of Academic Progress. MAP are state-aligned computerized adaptive assessments that provide accurate, useful information about student achievement and growth.
MAP tests provide highly accurate results that can be used to:
- Identify the skills and concepts individual students have learned.
- Diagnose instructional needs.
- Monitor academic growth over time.
- Make data-driven decisions at the classroom, school, and district levels.
- Place new students into appropriate instructional programs.
Students in grades K-8 will be required to complete their MAP modules the first few weeks of school. Grades K-2 will complete diagnostics in Mathematics and Reading. Grades 2-8 will complete diagnostics in Mathematics, Reading, and Language Usage.
STAR Testing (Standardized Testing and Reporting)
The STAR program is a statewide testing program used to help measure how well students are learning basic academic skills. The STAR testing is scheduled for April / May 2010.
